How the WBBL points table works

The WBBL points table determines which teams progress to the finals series based on performance during the 40-match league stage, with the top four sides advancing to compete for the title. It is built using a straightforward points system, tiebreakers, and hosting rights determined by ladder position, all critical to shaping the end of season knockout phase.

Each of the eight teams plays 10 matches in the double round robin format, facing every other team twice, once at home and once away. A win earns a team two points, while a loss results in zero. The primary goal for every team during the league phase is to finish in the top four, as only those four advance to the finals series. The team finishing first hosts the Final on 5 December 2026, provided they win through, while the second-placed side hosts the Challenger on 3 December. The third and fourth-placed teams meet in the Knockout on 1 December, with the winner advancing to challenge the second-placed team in the Challenger. The winner of the Challenger then progresses to the Final to face the minor premier.
